Mission Trips

A WMU mission project this year was involved sewing Jumpers and Jams for missionaries out west. A sample of their work:

We will have our Bland Trip this year November 5 to 7. We had a great WorkCamp in 2009, and the 18th one next year will be July 11 to 16, a week later then usual because we don't wish to start on the holiday. We will again be working in York and James City Counties, Williamsburg, Newport News, maybe Hampton and/or Poquoson.

Usually there is a dental team as well as those who work in the center.

Some may also work out in the community doing construction or other projects.

The Bland Center also houses a Head Start program center, these buses are

parked outside the Day Care center.

Spring 2009 Harald and Ed Aadahl were site leaders working with College Students from New England at Port Suphur, LA

Mississippi WorkCamp (Kamp Katrina I&II) & the Bahamas Mission (Centri-Cruise) trips .

Local missions include PORT and many projects supported by the WMU and others of Hilton Baptist.

Also we support and participate anuually in PBA WorkCamp a local ministry of repairs to homes in Newport News,

Hampton, Poquoson, Williamsburg, James City County and York County. Harald has been the the construction

construction coordinator for the last 15 years as well the construction coordinator for Kamp Katrina Mississippi WorkCamp (x2).
