Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Hilton Baptist is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

 

Leadership / Vision Team:

Our leadership / vision team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are lay people and shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

 

Pastor Lynwood, Senior Pastor

As the primary teaching pastor,
Pastor
Pastor Lynwood has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. Lynwood is a Newport News native, who grew up at Hilton Baptist Church and is a graduate of Warwick High School (’73)  He then attended Oral Roberts University, Tulsa. OK where he graduated with degrees in Theology and Communications.  He continued at ORU with his graduate studies in the Masters in Theology program, while teaching on the undergraduate level as a Graduate Fellow scholarship recipient.  He later also received his Juris Doctorate in Law as a member of the Charter Class of Regent University School of Law.  Lynwood has enjoyed successful practices in law in OK and VA, served as pastor of Calvary Temple, Allentown, PA and Administrator of Allentown Christian School,(1987-1992), worked as Executive Producer for the Oral Roberts Television Ministries, and traveled extensively in the US and Internationally in evangelistic and mission outreaches affiliated with the Oral Roberts Ministries.  Lynwood returned in 1999 to his home church as a member, and was then later called to become Senior Pastor (2001).  Lynwood is single with a cat, a dog and is currently a resident of Hampton, Virginia.
 
 

Pastor Tee Nou, Youth & Young Adult

Tee currently serves as HBC’s Youth Pastor. Tee grew up in Hampton where he was a graduate of Hampton High, class of ’99. He then attended Christopher Newport University and obtained a Bachelors of Arts, History degree (’03). After being stubborn to God’s call for several years, he finally pursued further studies in ministry. In December of 2015, Tee obtained a Masters of Arts degree with focus on Christian Ministry from Liberty University. Tee lives in Yorktown with his lovely wife, Diane, beautiful daughter, Moriah and 90lb pup, Oliver.
